What will tomorrow's property management look like? What role do mobile applications, energy management, and artificial intelligence play – and how can these technologies already be applied meaningfully in practice today?
This was the subject of these questions pitConnect 2026, which took place on September 17 at the ATLANTIC Hotel Heidelberg. The pit group's user meeting offered customers, partners, and interested parties the opportunity to learn about current developments from pit, discuss concrete practical examples, and exchange experiences from everyday work.
At the center of it was a thought that ran through the entire program: Digital property management does not live from individual technologies, but from the interplay of data, processes, and people.
Current developments and AI in the pitEcoSystem+
The pit group gave an overview of current developments and the next steps in pitEcoSystem+. This made it clear how strongly the individual solutions are increasingly being networked with one another and how end-to-end digital processes can emerge from this across the entire lifecycle of a property.
A particular focus was placed on the topic Artificial intelligence. The presentation „AI in the pitEcoSystem+: Strategy, Status Quo & Outlook“ presented current approaches and potential future areas of application.
The pit group pursues a clear approach in this regard: AI should support humans and not replace their decisions.
Practical knowledge in focus: the pit Experience Exchange
A central component of pitConnect 2026 was once again the direct exchange with users. In the Pit Experience Exchange Sessions concrete customer projects and practical experience were the focus.
It was not just about new features and products. Rather, the crucial question was how digital solutions can be used in daily work to make processes more transparent, seamless, and efficient.
CAD and BIM data directly in the browser
With the new pitFM WebViewer in pitFM Expert Web this networking will be further expanded. CAD and BIM data can be visualized directly in the browser and used interactively.
BIM4FM: From As-Built Model to Digital As-Built Model
Together with the Federal Real Estate Company it was demonstrated by means of a proof of concept how an end-to-end BIM process with pitCAD Ultimate and pitFM can be implemented.
From the as-built model through the management phase to the updated as-built model, building data can be reused and updated throughout the lifecycle. As a result, BIM is increasingly becoming a data foundation that can also be used for ongoing building operations.

Energy management and sustainable real estate management
With pitEnergy was shown how energy data from different sources can be centrally recorded, merged, and evaluated. Using the example of energy management according to ISO 50001 the process from energy data collection, analysis, and measure management to reporting and climate accounting was illustrated.
This allows energy consumption to be made transparent, savings potentials to be identified, and measures to be tracked in a structured manner.
Connect data instead of capturing new data
Among other things, the practical example of the showed how different data sources and systems can be connected with one another. Property and Building Administration Baden-Württemberg. Building data from 12 departments can be pooled in a central platform and made usable for various processes.
Also the use of pitFM hybrid Cloud (pitFM OpenConnect) at BLB NRW showed ways to securely integrate external partners into digital processes – for example, in mobile equipment data collection and the recording of pollutant cadastre data.
From planning to building operation
Also CAD, BIM, and building services engineering were part of the program. On the client project of the planning office e-Quadrat was shown how pitCAD Ultimate supports the planning and execution process in the HVAC sector.
This process is complemented by data exchange with SOLAR-COMPUTER. This allows planning and building data to be exchanged between systems without having to enter information multiple times.
Exchange, new products and networking
In addition to the Experience Exchange Sessions, participants were able to discover the solutions of the pit group at various exhibition stands. The focus was, among other things, on pitFM Expert Web, pitFM Smart and pitFM 2GO, pitENERGY, pitCAD Ultimate, SOLAR-COMPUTER as well as current approaches for the use of AI in pitFM.
